In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive patients at Central Jail and Krishna Nagar locality of Gosala in Maligaon area of Guwahati, authorities have declared new containment zones in the city.
Accordingly, the residence of Hiren Teron and coffee board office to the North of Central Jail has been declared as containment zone.
Moreover, the adjacent road to the south of central jail, SSB Camp and Assam Police plot to the East of Central Jail and the main gate of the central jail to the west have also been declared as containment zones.
In Maligaon, Krishna Nagar Road to the north, Mitha Arntol to the south, Adingiri Village to the east and Gosala-Adingirio Road to the west of Gosala have also been declared as containment zones.
These areas have been declared containment zones to prevent the further spread of the COVID-19 virus in the aforementioned areas and the Circle Officer, Guwahati Revenue Circle is directed to seal the areas immediately until further notice.
Any unauthorized entry and exit into the notified containment zones have been barred till the areas are declared safe as per guidelines of the union health ministry.
