Pakistan batsman Mohammad Hafeez retires from international cricket

Prolific Pakistan batsman Mohammad Hafeez has retired from international cricket. 

Hafeez announced his retirement on Monday, bringing curtains down to an 18-year long career. 

Mohammad Hafeez last played for Pakistan in the recently held T20 cricket world cup. 

Hafeez, however, will continue to play franchise-based cricket leagues.

He made his debut in international cricket in the year 2003. 

Hafeez represented Pakistan in 218 ODIs, scoring 6614 runs that included 11 hundreds and 38 fifties. 

He also picked up 139 wickets in ODIs. 

Mohammad Hafeez also played for Pakistan in 119 T20Is, hitting 2514 runs and scalping 61 wickets.
