Assam weightlifter Bornali Borah bagged a gold medal in the Under 21 45 kg category at the Khelo India Youth Games 2019 held in Pune, Maharashtra.
She also set a national record by lifting 77 kgs in the clean and jerk category, for a total of 132 kg in total weight.
The Khelo India Youth Games has been organized to revive the sports culture among the youths in India.
This year, many participants from school and colleges are taking part in the games.
The Khelo India Youth Games was declared open on Wednesday in presence of a host of eminent personalities like Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, double Olympic medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar.
The event was also attended by Olympian hockey winners Gurbux Singh and Ajit Pal Singh, badminton legend P Gopichand, shooter Gagan Narang, gymnasts Dipa Karmakar and legendary woman footballer Bem Bem Devi.
