Union home minister Amit Shah has asked the States of Northeast to resolve boundary disputes through dialogue.
Speaking to the Chief Ministers of the Northeast States during the 69th plenary session of the Northeast Council (NEC), Home Minister Amit Shah has asked them to adopt means of dialogue to resolve boundary disputes.
Amit Shah further stated that the process of resolving boundary disputes between the Northeast States will be given a priority after the Assembly Elections in Assam.
Elections to the Assam Assembly is likely to be held during April-May.

Notably, almost all the North-eastern States have boundary disputes with Assam.
Home Minister Amit Shah was in Shillong, Meghalaya on Saturday, where he took part in the 69th plenary session of the Northeast Council (NEC).
After attending the NEC session, Amit Shah arrived in Guwahati later in the day on Saturday, where he was welcomed by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
On Sunday (January 24), Amit Shah will hold two public meetings in Assam – one in Kokrajhar and the other in Nalbari.
