Two youths died in a road mishap that took place at Lohpohiya Chariali in upper Assam’s West Jorhat on Monday.
The victims have been identified as Rajiv Roy, 35, of Puroni Mati Tea Estate and Jaggu Majhi, 27, of Sokolani Tea Estate in Jorhat district.
A police source said the accident took place when the bike (No AS 03 Z 6298) they were riding was hit by a truck (No: AS 27 C 5411) while trying to overtake them from behind.
The two youths were rushed to the hospital, where the doctors declared them brought dead.
The driver of the truck managed to flee from the spot. Police have seized the truck.
