In a shocking incident, a ten-year-old minor girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old boy in Assam’s Hojai district.
According to police, the minor girl was lured into a forest by the boy, where he allegedly repeatedly raped her.
After learning about the incident, the parents of the minor girl lodged an FIR, following which the police arrested the accused boy.
Meanwhile, the girl was sent for medical examination.
The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
On the other hand, the Nagaon Juvenile Court has sent the 14-year-old accused boy to the Jorhat Juvenile Home.
Notably, cases of crime against women and children continues unabated in Assam.
