Covid19 Assam

Assam has registered 106 new Covid19 positive cases on Sunday, taking the overall tally to 4,049.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 7.45 pm on Sunday said the infected patients have been detected in 9 districts.

The health minister said Nagaon has reported 32 new Covid19 positive cases, Darrang has reported 13 cases, Barpeta 10 cases and 3 positive cases have been detected in Karimganj district.

Lakhimpur district has reported 2 new positive cases while Dhemaji and Cachar districts have reported one each positive case.

Kamrup (Metro and Rural) has reported 44 new positive cases.

On Sunday, Assam has registered a total of 149 positive cases so far.

“Alert ~ 106 new #COVID19+ cases reported. 32 Nagaon, 28 Kamrup, 16 Kamrup, 13 Darrang, 10 Barpeta, 3 Karimganj, 2 Lakhimpur, 1 Dhemaji, 1 Cachar,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

With the new cases, the number of total active Covid19 cases in Assam stands at 2,078.

Earlier, a total of 1,960 Covid19 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.

On Sunday, a total of 155 patients were discharged from various civil, district, and model hospitals after they tested negative, Sarma informed in an earlier tweet.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 8 persons in Assam so far while 3 cases migrated from the state.

“Total cases 4049. Recovered 1960. Active cases 2078. Deaths 08,” Sarma said in his latest tweet.
