Nearly 48 per cent of the total COVID-19 cases in Assam have been registered in the last 16 days.
Assam’s total COVID-19 cases are 76,875 and of this 47.62 per cent cases have been detected between August 1 to August 16.
Assam Health department informed that 36,606 COVID-19 cases in the state were detected from August 1 to August 16.
In the last 24 hours, the state has reported 1,317 fresh positive cases.
Out of the new cases, 233 cases have been reported from Kamrup (Metro), 161 cases detected in Cachar and 133 cases in Dibrugarh.
Moreover, so far 189 people in the state have lost their lives in the fight against COVID-19.
As many 91 patients have succumbed to the infection since August 1.
