Guwahati: Dima Hasao in Assam is facing a major disaster as relentless rains have triggered floods, landslides, and widespread disruption to transportation and power supply.

The Lumding-Silchar railway line, a vital link in the region, is severely impacted.

Floodwaters from overflowing rivers and cascading hills have submerged tunnel number 14 and several sections of track, forcing the suspension of train services.

Three passenger trains are currently stranded at stations along the line, causing distress among passengers.
