Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday has decided to hold dialogue with the Sitajakhala Dugdha Utpadak Samabai Samiti Limited (SDUSSL).
Notably, in an unprecedented act, the cooperative society of the dairy producers had poured over 1,000 litres of milk into the Killing river at Jagiroad on Friday last.
It was in protest against the state government’s apathy against the dairy sector.
The act came in for severe criticism from all quarters.
Later on Sunday, the firm distributed free milk to its consumers.
The chief minister also directed state cooperation minister Rihon Daimary to have talks with the milk producers.
