Guwahati: At least three youths were killed after being run over by a truck in Barpeta, Assam on Saturday.
Of the dead, two were women and one man.
They were on a motorcycle when they were run over by a truck that was allegedly speeding.
The three were killed on the spot while one more person, said to be a minor, was severely injured in the accident.

The incident took place in the Barpeta Road area.
The deceased were identified as Shahjahan Ali, Aasma Khatun, and Jasmine Parveen.
They were residents of the Satbhonir Tup village in Barpeta, Assam.

The minor is currently admitted to a hospital and is being treated.
While it has been accused that the truck was speeding which also managed to flee from the spot, police said an investigation is being initiated.
The vehicle the deceased persons were on was a scooter and did not have a registration plate on it.
Further, the people were riding more than the permitted capacity on the scooter.
