Five trucks were buried while a shop was damaged on Friday in a massive landslide triggered by heavy rains on NH-15 at Banderdewa along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.
Police said no loss of life was reported in the incident.
Local residents claimed that the landslide occurred due to the cutting of the lower part of the hill.
Due to the landslide, the NH-15 was blocked and several trucks and vehicles were stranded in the area.
“I was inside my truck and was asleep. The debris pushed the truck almost 10 feet away from the parking spot,” said a truck driver, who narrowly escaped death.
