The Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA) has been conferred the award of ‘Best State Legal Services Authority’ in the north-east region.

The award was presented to APSLSA by Union minister for law and iustice, Ravi Shankar Prasad, during the national commendation ceremony in New Delhi on Sunday.

The event was organized by the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) on the occasion of Legal Services Day-2019

The national commendation ceremony is an annual affair of the NLSA in which it felicitates the best performing state and district legal services authorities, panel lawyers and best para legal volunteers from across the nation.

Papum Pare DLSA had won the best district legal services authority award in the year 2016 and a lawyer from Tirap had won the award for best panel lawyer among the north eastern states in 2018.

The legal services authorities of Arunachal have been quite instrumental in extending their services to every nook and corner of State despite it having a difficult topography and demography.

The present executive chairman of APSLSA is Gauhati High Court judge Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan while Budi Habung is its member secretary.
