The Itanagar capital complex district administration of Arunachal Pradesh continued its the eviction drive against stray animals from Naharlagun to Banderdewa.

On Saturday, the capital complex district administration impounded around 26 stray animals making the road free for traffic.

The Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan requested the residents of the capital to cooperate with the administration and not let loose their animals on the streets.

The district administration will continue with the drive while also observing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, he said. Notably, the road from Naharlagun to Banderdewa, which is the entrance road to Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh has been witnessing a menace of stray animals stalling and disrupting traffic causing much inconvenience to the commuters.

The nearby villagers usually let their livestock move freely that often squat on the road which is otherwise a busy lifeline of Arunachal Pradesh.
