Imphal: As per affidavits submitted to the Election Commission of India, a candidate with no movable or immovable asset, a lakhpati, and four millionaires are in the election fray in the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat slated on April 19.

The BJP candidate Thounaojam Basantakumar is the wealthiest having around Rs. 73,59,079.19 movable assets among the six candidates for the Inner Manipur LS seat, according to the affidavit. Besides, he has four vehicles, two ‘Tula’ of Gold.

The INC candidate Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam is the second richest with movable assets of around Rs. 68,59,594.21.

In addition, he has one two-wheeler and a four-wheeler along with 10 gm of gold.

The affidavit states that his wife has around Rs 3,11,961.71 with around 40 gm of gold.

The Republican Party of India (RPI-A) candidate Maheshwar Thounaojam around Rs. 13,26,719.42 in movable assets, and his wife around Rs. 11,28,570.76 is the third richest.

Apart from that Maheshwar is the only candidate with a gun license.

The affidavit submitted by Independent candidate RK Somendro Singh alias Kaiku showed that he has around Rs. 25,07,842.39 in movable assets with two vehicles, gold, and money in bank accounts.

His wife has around Rs. 3,94,000 in movable assets.

Haorungbam Sarat Singh, an Independent candidate in his affidavit stated that he has around Rs. 2,77,829.4 in movable assets and Rs. 6,70,000 in immovable assets.

Moirangthem Totomshana Nongshaba, much to the chagrin, in his affidavit, stated that he has no movable or immovable asset.
