The Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama on Sunday said he ‘doesn’t care’ and that ‘it does not matter’ about the cancellation of the programme scheduled in New Delhi to commemorate 60 years of Tibetan government in exile in India.

The Dalai Lama further added ‘it was more about how you feel for Tibetans and how Tibetans feel for India’ in a television interview with CNN News18.

It is learnt that India was forced to cancel the programme because of its sensitive relation with China in present days.

However, the Ministry of External Affairs reiterated that there is ‘no shift in India’s stance on the Dalai Lama’, adding ‘Dalai Lama is a revered spiritual leader and is free to carry out religious activities in India’.

Meanwhile, the Dalai Lama’s proposed visit to Sikkim has also been cancelled.
