Guwahati: Man-animal conflict is a common issue in Assam and often leads to the death of either one of them.

The leopard was injured during the process of capturing it by the locals who claimed that the big cat had been attacking their livestock and people as well over the past few days.

Several environmentalists have shown concern about the process that was used to capture the big cat.

The locals claimed that they decided to capture the leopard all by themselves because the forest officials did not show appropriate measures in containing the animal.

They claimed that they had informed that forest department several hours before acting on their own to capture the leopard.
