The ABSU president also said there are a large number of vacant posts of teachers from primary to high schools making it difficult to improve the performance in the Bodo medium schools.

“Though from time to time memorandums are submitted to the State Government to solve the problems there has been least attention drawn towards solving it. Due to these problems, the Bodo medium students cannot perform so that they can get position in the list of top 10 in HSLC Examination conducted by SEBA except one in HSLC Examination, 2017 when one (Bibungsar Basumatary) got 10th rank,” he said.

The ABSU president said there is need of more support for improvement in performance by the Bodo medium students in the State.

The union urged the Government to consider setting up of a separate directorate for Bodo medium in Assam for taking care of the problems in Bodo medium education in the State.
