The Guwahati Transport Association, Guwahati Metro Transport Association, and Deluxe Bus Association have increased bus fares from Tuesday.
The bus owners’ association said the fares had been hiked to cope with the rising fuel prices. The three associations have come forward with a new price table with increased fares.
According to the new chart, the minimum fare of city buses will be Rs. 7 (previously Rs. 5) and the maximum fare would be Rs. 23.
Here are the new fares 3 km – Rs 7, 3-5 km – Rs 8, 5-9 km – Rs 12, 9-13 km – Rs 15, 13-17 km – Rs 18, 17-21 km – Rs 21, 21-25 km – Rs 23.
As the fares were suddenly increased without notice, some passengers had altercation with the bus conducters.
