The State Bank of India (SBI) has contributed an amount of Rs 100 crore to the PM-CARES fund to fight COVID-19.

The bank in a statement said that around 2, 56,000 of its employees have decided to contribute two days salary to the PM -CARES Fund.

With this collective effort and commitment of SBI employees, Rs 100 crore will be donated to the Fund, it added.

Prime Minister NarendraModi has urged the people to donate openheartedly at PM’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) fund.

“This will be a dedicated national fund with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or distress situation like posed by the COVID-19 pandemic,” the PM said.

And accordingly, the Prime Minister shared a UPI ID as well where people can donate openheartedly.

The account number for the PM CARES fund is 2121PM20202 with IFSC code SBIN0000691. The SWIFT code is SBININBB104.

People can also donate to the fund on pmindia.gov.in using UPI, Net Banking, RTGS, NEFT and debit and credit cards.

Many celebrities and organizations have made significant contributions towards the fund to help the country to contain the coronavirus pandemic.
