A mass felicitation cum thanksgiving programme of Doungel Insung (Doungel families) was organized under the aegis of Doungel Inpi. Doungel Inpi is a body of Doungel clan in Kuki community at St Paul’s Retreat Centre at Mantripukhri in Imphal on Friday.
The programme was organized to felicitate and seek almighty’s blessing for Gazetted Officers, Reverends, Pastors, Elected members, Academicians, Talented personalities in diverse fields such as arts, sports etc exclusively belongs to the family members of Doungel Clan of Kuki community from Manipur, Nagaland and Assam states, according to an organizer.
About 1000 people mostly Doungel family members from Assam and Nagaland took part in the programme.
The prominent among them included former Minister Chungkhokai Doungel, Sehkhojang Doungel(NCS), President, Songthu Inpi Assam Dehjang Haolai,TPO President Jamkhopao Touthang, Upa Songlawmthang Shakum EFCI; Hauthang Kilong(IRS), P Doungel, Colonel Daniel Lotzem; Christopher, ADGP; Michael Touthang, IDAS; Dr S Dimngel, Seiminlen Doungel, national football player; Rev D Doungel, Rev D Jangkholam; Lt Colonel Dr Thangmang Touthang, Timothy Shakum, Deputy Director, ICG; Dr T Zamkam Kuki.
Melodious songs performed by invited artistes, presentation of Mementos, release of constitution book of Doungel Inpi by Ngamkhotinthang Doungel, Head of the Clan and a dedication prayer by Rev Seilen Haolai marked the the felicitation event.
Felicitation program Minister Rev S Prim Vaiphei who is the President, All Manipur Christian Organisation invoked the blessing of God for the Doungel families and also wished for a more peaceful and prosperous Manipur.
The felicitation function was concluded with a ‘love feast’ arranged by Doungel Inpi.
