Manipur Revenue Minister, Karam Shyam expressed that the last one year of Imphal Evenings has been a major success for the public of Manipur in terms of the recreation and free space that the people had been able to enjoy along with their family and near and dear ones during weekends and non-working days.

He was speaking as chief guest at the first anniversary celebration of Imphal Evenings organized by the Department of MAHUD, Government of Manipur at Western Gate, Kangla on Monday evening.

Minister MAHUD & Town Planning, Th Shyamkumar; Minister IFCD, Youth Affairs & Sports, Letpao Haokip, MLAs L Radhakishore, Lukhoi, Khashim Vashum and Mayor, Imphal Municipal Corporation,  L Lokeshwor Singh graced the dais at the function as president, special guest and guests of honour respectively.

Imphal Evenings has been a great instrument in easing the tensions of office-goers and social-networking, Minister Karam Shyam stated.

Imphal Evenings has promoted in a way a discipline of civic sense, cleanliness, co-operation and unity amongst the different communities of the State, he added.

The Minister also stressed that youths of today should indulge in positive, constructive thoughts and inculcate thought sharing among each other.

Presiding the function, Minister Th Shyamkumar said that he gives credit to the people and officials of the State for making the Imphal Evenings a grand success.

Highlighting on the many elements of Imphal Evenings, he assured that it is not just about food stalls and relaxation platforms but also a way of exposing the youths and the students to academic environment.

“We should love one another and exchange our cultures during our entire lifetime”, he also said.

Highlighting that Imphal Evenings is a clear indicator that normalcy has arrived in Manipur, Minister Letpao Haokip said that the Government has been fighting hard to solve the Manipur University impasse and other similar crisis so that peace and tranquillity is restored in the State.
