Aroma, a Guwahati-based educational-cum-socio-cultural institute, which has already crossed 16 years after its launch, has planned to motivate the youths of different corners of Assam towards positive energy and exploring their individual potentialities in various fields.
This was stated by Dhrubajyoti Duwara, the director and founder of Aroma as well as a well-known academician.
Duwara, who originally hails from Mangaldai, who secured rank in the list of top ten in the Science stream of HS final examination from Mangaldai Government HS School in 1986, had an interaction with Northeast Now following the celebration of 16 years foundation of the institute.
“We are planning to expand our concept of developing self confidence among the youths across the State through various scientific motivational programmes,” said Duwarah.
Duwarah said, “We have taken 16 years to come to this decision and we have chosen to begin this journey from my home town, Mangaldai where ‘Aroma’ introduced first of its branch very recently.”
Earlier, the institute celebrated its 16 years of the foundation day with a variety of programmes including felicitation of prominent academicians, personalities of different fields of the State like Prof Arun Sarma of Vellore Institute of Technology.
The other personalities who were also felicitated included veteran tablist and music composer Surya Goswami, senior civil servant Pankaj Chakravarty, medical practitioner Dr Brajendra Lahkar, senior police officials Ranjan Bhuyan and Partha Sarathi Mahanta, former national level table tennis player and a senior official of OIL, Arunjyoti Baruah, Parag Mahanta and Mira Deka among others.
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers lauded the student-friendly approach of the faculty members and staff of Aroma under the leadership of Dhrubajyoti Duwara.
The event at the GTC conference hall on Sunday afternoon also featured presentations of songs and dances by the present and former students including cultural programmes by Arabinda Neog, Hirak Jyoti Sarma, Simi Barman and others.
The function also marked the ceremonial release of Dhrubajyoti Duwara’s collection of articles titled ‘Bhagawan Kon – Who is God’ jointly by Ankur Deka, senior sub-editor, Gariyoshi, Parthajeet Sarma, entrepreneur and well-known writer.
The four-hour-long function neatly anchored by radio announcer and singer Pranjal Sarma was formally inaugurated by Dr Bhabesh Ch Goswami, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University.
