Some parts of Shillong will be without water until Tuesday evening, due to water main breakdown, authorities informed on Monday.
According to a statement by the Superintending Engineer (PHE), Greater Shillong Circle, due to breakdown of the 750 mm diameter CI Gravity main of Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme at Lumsohriew (near Lad Mawreng) on the morning of April 1, water supply in the city will be affected till the evening of April 3.
The areas which will be affected during the period are Shillong Municipal Board areas, Shillong Cantonment Board areas, Nongthymmai and Mawlai. “Every effort is being made to complete the repair works for restoration of normal water supply by the evening of April 3,” added the authorities .
