Six persons were arrested in Nagaon’s Rupohihat for allegedly attacking a police team and damaging their vehicle.
As per sources, the incident took place on Monday when a team of Anti Narcotics Cell of the police were on an operation based on inputs about a gambling and contraband racket in the area.
The police had inputs about contrabands being used in the area and so the police reached the stop but on confrontation, several people allegedly being involved in the racket had attacked the police and the vehicle.

During the attack, the police vehicle was damaged but no one was injured.
The police following this arrested six persons in connection with the incident.
They were identified as Hira Gowala, Kuldeep Munda, Khairul Islam, Muzakir Alom, Hasmat Ali and Mofidul Islam.
They have been sent to judicial custody.
