Bangladesh police arrested one Aminul Islam- a key militant of the banned Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) outfit.
The arrested militant, during interrogation, confessed that ABT militants were involved in a conspiracy to destabilize the country by killing people in top positions and destroying important installations.
Islam was arrested on Wednesday night and police informed that legal action has been taken against him.
The arrested ABT member also exposed present activities of the militant outfit and about his membership in the ABT to the officials of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU).
Aminul Islam is a resident of Dokkhin Para area in Araihajar upazila of Narayanganj.
Police informed that Islam used to run a Facebook page under an ID called ‘Ghumonto Shardul’.
A mobile phone, a huge number of radical books, and documents related to the ABT were recovered from Islam.
