Three incidents of fire have been reported from different parts of Dibrugarh town during the celebration of Diwali festival on Thursday.

The first fire incident occurred at HS Road near the Indian Overseas Bank in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh.

Fire tenders reached the spot and controlled the fire.

The second incident of fire was reported from the New Market area near the fruit market.

However, no property was damaged in the fire.

The third incident of fire took place at Police Reserve in Dibrugarh.

It took place at around 9.50 pm and the fire was controlled at around 10.20 pm.

The house of a constable, identified as Pankaj Das, was gutted.

All the incidents of fire were caused due to the bursting of crackers.

“Three fire incidents occurred in Dibrugarh town on Thursday. In the third incident, the house of constable Pankaj Das was gutted in the fire. The fire tenders controlled the fire from devastation,” said an official.
