Former Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar has alleged that the BJP is trying to establish a fascist and dictatorial regime in the country.
Manik Sarkar alleged that the saffron party is viewing Tripura as a laboratory for experimenting a “one-party, fascist and dictatorial regime”.
He said that the Constitution of India is under threat under the BJP rule.
Sarkar also broke silence on the recent violent attacks on opposition leaders in Tripura.

Sarkar alleged: “The onslaught against us began after March 2018, once the results of the assembly elections were published. Recently, the violence increased because BJP is panicking after our programmes highlighting the government’s failures started getting huge response from the people,” Sarkar was quoted as saying by TOI.
He alleged that if BJP’s experiment in Tripura becomes successful, the saffron party will ‘replicate’ the model in the entire country.
Manik Sarkar along with CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury is in New Delhi trying to meet PM Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind to apprise them about the alleged attacks on opposition leaders in Tripura.
