Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais has decided to take 30 per cent less salary for one year.

The Governor has taken the decision to strengthen the fight against COVID-19.

In a press release from Agartala Raj Bhavan it is stated that the Governor would take 30 per cent less salary for one year with effect from April, 2020.

The Governor also slashed down some other expenditure.

As per the curtailement there will be no major works in the financial year 2020-21.

Only the ongoing works will go on.

At the same time, there will be no major renovation work except emergency maintenance works.

On the other hand, the expenditure for at home and state banquet programmes will be reduced.

The Governor has passed necessary instructions to the administration for utilizing the savings from such steps for welfare of common people.

It is also notable that, the MLAs of BJP in Tripura has donated their 50 per cent salary of one month to the CM relief fund to fight against COVID-19.

The CPI-M MLAs have also donated 25 per cent of their salary for consecutive three months in the CM relief fund to fight against COVID-19.
