The economic blockade in Assam against Mizoram has come to an end.
The blockade, which was in place for over ten days, came to an end after an intervention of two Assam ministers – Ashok Singhal and Parimal Suklabaidhya.
Hundreds of trucks carrying essentials to Mizoram, which remained stranded along National Highway 306 in Assam have started moving.
The blockade was imposed by the locals at Lailapur in Assam’s Cachar district.

Assam Ministers Ashok Singhal and Parimal Suklabaidya arrived at Lailapur on Saturday evening and interacted with the locals, resulting in lifting of the blockade.
The blockade was imposed by the locals at Lailapur following the July 26 clash along the Assam-Mizoram border.
Six Assam police personnel and a civilian were killed in the clash, while many on both sides sustained serious injuries.
