Schools in Assam are likely to re-open in a phased manner from September.

Informing this, Assam Education Minister Ranuj Pegu said that the State Government has already prepared preliminary plans for re-opening of educational institutes.

During the first phase of re-opening classes of standard 9, 10, 11 and 12 are likely to begin.

However, the Universities in the state will decide on the resumption of classes for undergraduate and post-graduate courses.

Notably, schools, colleges and other educational institutes in Assam have remained close since March 20 after the second wave of COVID-19 hit the country.
