Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday appraised Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar on various programmes being undertaken by the state government to improve the agriculture sector.
Sangma is on a visit to the New Delhi and has met several Union ministers including Tomar.
The agriculture sector of Meghalaya has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The chief minister also sought the support and approval of the Centre to establish different centres of excellence for agriculture and allied sectors in the state.
“Apprised the Hon’ble Union Minister for @AgriGoI, Sh. @nstomar Ji on the progress of various flagship programmes of GoI in #Meghalaya. Also sought assistance and approvals for the establishment of Centres of Excellence for agri & allied sector in the State,” Conrad Sangma tweeted.
