Bollywood actor and BJP MP from Gurdaspur Sunny Deol has tested positive for Covid, the Himachal Pradesh government has confirmed.
Amitabh Awasthi, health secretary of Himchal Pradesh said Sunny Deol has been staying in Kullu district for the last few days, and has tested positive for Coronavirus.
On Wednesday morning, he tweeted: “I got myself tested for coronavirus and the result has come back positive. I am in isolation and feeling well. I request that all those who came in contact with me recently should isolate themselves and get tested.”

The 64-year-old Bollywood actor had undergone a shoulder surgery in Mumbai recently and was recuperating at a farmhouse near Manali.
Sunny Deol on Tuesday got tested himself for Covid in Manali as he was planning to return to Mumbai. He tested positive but is asymptomatic and is keeping fine.
Sources close to the Bollywood star said he would be under home quarantine in Manali and will follow all the instructions by the health authorities of Himachal Pradesh government.
On Wednesday morning, Sunny Deol wrote on his Facebook page that he is doing find. He also asked the people who came in contact with him recently to isolate themselves.
Dr Ranjit Thakur, the Block Medical Officer at Nagar said one of Sunny Deol’s associates also tested positive.
Amitabh Awasthi has reportedly instructed health department officials in Manali to closely monitor the Bollywood star’s health conditions.
Sunny will soon be seen in the sequel for Apne. He will star in the film with his father Dharmendra, brother Bobby Deol and son Karan Deol.
The film, which was officially announced by Dharmendra on Sunday, will have a Diwali 2021 theatrical release.
