The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced central observers for Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya, where preparations are on to form governments.

After the saffron party registered victory in Tripura and overwhelming response in Nagaland and Meghalaya, the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Board has appointed central observers for the three Northeastern States.

The decision was taken on Saturday night after a long deliberation on the election results.

Disclosing this, senior BJP leader and Union Minister JP Nadda said that Union Cabinet Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Jual Oram have been appointed as central observers for Tripura.

Cabinet Minister JP Nadda and BJP general secretary Arun Singh have been appointed as central observers for Nagaland and Union Ministers Kiren Rijiju and Alfonso Kannanthanam have been appointed as central observers for Meghalaya.

“The Parliamentary Board of the BJP thanks the voters of Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya for reposing overwhelming support for the BJP, its allies and friendly parties,” Nadda said in press statement.

The results of Tripura Assembly have been most significant. “The BJP and IPFT have secured a two-third majority in the State Assembly,” Nadda added.

“The BJP has secured a majority on its own. One of the few surviving left enclaves has been demolished. The BJP-led alliance has secured over 50 per cent of the popular votes. The politics of violence has been defeated by the power of democracy in Tripura,” Nadda said.

The BJP, its allies and friendly parties have secured an absolute majority in the Assemblies of Nagaland and Meghalaya. “The party is confident of formation of the government with its allies,” Nadda said.

The NDA government under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked relentlessly for the development of the Northeastern States, he said.

“The party commits and dedicates itself to serve the people of the Northeastern States, who have reposed this mandate in the BJP and its allies. This is a mandate for peace, stability and development. The voters have voted for including North-east as a part of the national development agenda. The NDA government has set up new standards for federalism in the governance. The party dedicates itself to respect this objective,” Nadda added.
