In order to enhance learning experience for the under privileged students in Manipur’s Tamenglong district amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, deputy commissioner Armstrong Pame on Saturday distributed television sets to the schools under Zonal Education Office(ZEO) of the district, official sources from the hill town said.

Speaking on the occasion, Armstrong Pame stated that as the students are one of worst affected sections due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for education is of paramount necessity to overcome this huge problem.

He also expressed that the special initiative coverage of the schools will be expanded in the future.

Armstrong along with the zonal education officer Dimonang Pamei and the school management committee provided a set of television each to ten schools in the district under the joint initiative under the vision of district administration and ZEO, Tamenglong.

The ten schools of the district which received the TV sets are Happy Villa PS, Gadailong UPS of Tamenglong block, Tegauram PS, Taningjam PS, Phoklong Khullen PS, Aben PS which was run by an NGO,Tousem High School, KGBV New Mandeu under Tousem Block and Makui High School and Lenglong High School under Tamei Block.

The television sets distribution programme was held at the conference hall of the deputy commissioner’s office at Tamenglong district headquarters, 140 km west of Imphal.

The TV sets were handed over to the respective head masters of the schools in the presence of Satyajit Elangbam, district programme manager, Samagra Siksha, Tamenglong and staff of ZEO, Tamenglong.
