On the day when Assam’s overall COVID19 tally increased to 11,001, a total of 416 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from various hospitals across the state.

Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status said: “Discharge Alert. Glad to share that 416 more patients have been discharged today from various civil, district & model hospitals in Assam. Our best wishes to them.”

With the discharge of the 416 patients, the total number of discharged COVID19 cases in Assam has risen to 6,743.

Assam currently has 4,241 active COVID19 cases.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 14 persons in Assam so far while 3 cases have migrated from the state.

“Total Discharged Patients – 6743. Active Patients – 4241,” health minister Sarma said.

In a tweet at 12.40 am on Sunday, health minister Sarma informed about the highest-ever spike of 1,202 COVID19 positive cases recorded in Assam within 24 hours, taking the state’s overall tally to 11,001.

Health minister Sarma said out of the total 1,202 new positive cases reported in the state, 777 are from Guwahati alone.

“Alert ~ In the biggest spike ever, Assam on 4th July reported 1202 cases, 777 of these from Guwahati City alone. Time for all of us to be extra vigilant,” health minister Sarma said.
