The mobile and data services of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) remained disrupted for the 11th day across the Northeast following a fire incident at an exchange in Kolkata’s Salt Lake last week.

The services not only affected the eight north-eastern states but also West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

A major transmission equipment was burnt after a fire broke out at the BSNL building in Salt Lake on July 22 evening.

Officials have, however, said that the engineers are still working hard to restore the services.

According to BSNL sources, engineers are working on a war-footing to normalize the services.

The state run telecom company is hopeful that the services would be restored in a day or two.
