Assam government on Wednesday issued fresh guidelines for the returnees coming by flight to the State.
According to the new guidelines, husband and wife coming together will not be sent for institutional quarantine.
Husband, wife and children coming together will not be sent to institutional quarantine.
Even relatives accompanying a couple will not be quarantined at the centres.
They will sent for 14 days home quarantine after collecting their swab for testing and other mandatory medical tests.
The respective district administrations will declare the residences of these returnees as quarantine zone.
These guidelines were issued through a notice signed by principal secretary of the Health department Samir K Sinha.
State health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also tweeted about these new guidelines.
