The Government of India under the Agriculture Export Policy (AEP) 2018, has decided to set up National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accredited lab in Guwahati for testing of organic produces.
Minister of Commerce and Industry, Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu had earlier tweeted, NE region has the potential to produce exportable organic produce. Currently, produce is sent to Kolkata for testing which is logistically challenging & costly. NABL accredited labs are proposed to be set up in Guwahati, particularly for the testing of spices
