The MoU envisages the fulfilling of objectives like IIT academic support to NEHU.

The North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati.

NEHU vice-chancellor S. K. Srivastava, who is the member of the Board of Governors of IIT Guwahati announced that the MoU was signed between NEHU and IIT Guwahati on February 18.

The MoU envisages the fulfilling of objectives like IIT academic support to NEHU, internship program at IIT Guwahati, joint degree programs, faculty support to NEHU and vice-versa, short term training programs, guidance in infrastructure development, joint twinning programmes, creation of centre of excellence and joint short term programs and workshops.

This MoU would also enable NEHU faculty/students to explore possibilities of pursuing their masters and doctoral programs at IIT Guwahati on full time basis as per the existing IIT Guwahati norms.

The MoU would also facilitate co-operation for development of new areas of research and development at NEHU
