In yet another significant development, the Imphal East District Administration in Manipur will be receiving an award for the Online Land Record Computerization and National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) project.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Rangitabali Waikhom of the District will be receiving the Silver award for ‘Loucha Pathap’ – Online Land Record Computerization and NGDRS project during the 23rd National Conference on e-Governance to be held at Mumbai, Maharashtra from February 7 and 8, 2020, according to official sources in Imphal.

The Silver Award carries a certificate, citation along with cash award of Rs 1 Lakh.

It may worth mentioning here that the project has been awarded Silver on National Award for e Governance 2019-20 under ‘Category III-Excellence in District level initiative in e-Governance (i) North-East States +Hilly States (ii) Union Territories (including Delhi) (iii) Other States’.

The project- NGDRS, an online system for document and property registration, started implementation at the office of Sub Registrar at Porompat in Imphal East district.

The general public themselves can now do online land valuation besides applying online property and document registration through NGDRS.

It may also be mentioned that under online land record computerization- Loucha Pathap project, Digitisation was completed for 157 villages under Imphal East district.

Now Land Record data can be accessed online 24×7 including the details of pending revenue taxes.

The same data can also be accessed through the Android mobile App ‘Loucha Pathap’ available at Google Play Store. All the transactions and tax collection details are updated real time. All transactions are done digitally.

The initiative will be able to reach out to a large number of people. All stakeholders- Government, citizens and different organizations benefit from this project.

Manual processing is severely reduced thus improving efficiency and drastically reducing red-tapism.

This achievement will surely provide inspiration to many in their endeavours in improving governance and service delivery.
