Gujarat’s Cadila Pharmaceuticals has been severely affected by the coronavirus pandemic with three of its employees losing lives due to COVID-19.

As per reports, 26 employees of the company had earlier tested positive for COVID-19.

The three deceased persons were a part of the company’s production and packaging departments.

One of the deceased employees was recently shifted to home isolation along with 20 others, while two were undergoing treatment at Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Gujarat had recorded 13268 coronavirus cases and 802 deaths so far.

India on Saturday saw the highest spike in the number of coronavirus cases with 6654 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the country increased to 125101 on Saturday.

The death toll due to the deadly virus increased to 3720 after 137 more fatalities.

The active cases of the coronavirus disease rose to 69,597, while 51,783 people have recovered and a patient has migrated, according to the health ministry.

Of the 137 new deaths, 63 were in Maharashtra, 29 in Gujarat, 14 each from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, six from West Bengal, four from Tamil Nadu, two each from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, and one from Haryana.
