Salman Khan may essay the role of Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian astronaut to travel into space.
Titled as ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha’, the Siddhart Roy Kapur film was first offered to Shah Rukh Khan. But he turned the role after his much-awaited film ‘Zero’ bombed at the box-office.
The role then went to Aamir Khan and Vicky Kaushal and the actors also turned down the role citing various reasons.
According to industry sources, the filmmaker approached the Dabbang start, who heard the script and is yet to give his final nod.
Sources say the actor may agree to do the film.
Rakesh Sharma travelled into space in the Soviet rocket Soyuz T-11 in 1984.
