The Centre is mulling to do away with COVID-19 negative report for passengers who have received both the doses of vaccine and intend to travel in domestic airlines.
This was informed by Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri while speaking to news agency ANI on Sunday.
He said that a decision in this regard would be taken after consultations with other ministries and stakeholders.
“A joint team from several ministries and stakeholders, including the health department, are in discussion to take a final decision on allowing travelling by air without an RT-PCR test for those who have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine,” Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said.

The matter is under consideration of the Centre after the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) recently suggested that mandatory RT-PCR test for domestic travel via air can be completely removed.
However, the Civil Aviation minister clarified that even if the Centre drops the provision of COVID-19 negative report for air travel, the final call will be upon the State Governments.
“Health is a state subject, and to ask passengers for a negative RT-PCR report before they enter a state is solely the right of that particular state,” Hardeep Singh Puri said.
