Quashing the recent rumours suggesting that the next James Bond adventure No Time To Die starring Daniel Craig was exploring a $600 million one-year licensing deal with an OTT platform, makers MGM clarified that the film is “not for sale for direct digital release”.

A report in Bloomberg suggested that streaming platforms including Netflix, Amazon and Apple, had been exploring the possibility of acquiring the film.

The process to acquire the films began after the studio MGM and producer Barbara Broccoli decided to postpone the movie and move it from its rescheduled November release date to April 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic.

It may be mentioned here that studio MGM has reportedly lost between $30 million and $50 million due to the delays.

“We do not comment on rumours. The film is not for sale. The film’s release has been postponed until April 2021 in order to preserve the theatrical experience for moviegoers,” an MGM spokesperson told variety.com.
