MK Stalin, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supremo, was on Friday sworn-in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Stalin was administered the oath of office by Governor Banwarilal Purohit in a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai on Friday morning.
Along with Stalin, 33 members of his cabinet also took oath of office on Friday.
This is the Stalin’s first term as Chief Minister.
At 69, he is also the oldest first-time Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Soon after taking charge as the chief minister MK Stalin issued five orders.
The first order was a COVID relief of Rs 2,000 each to 2.07 crore rice-card holders.
The second order was that the Government will bear the expenses of treatment of COVID-19 patients in private hospitals.
“The chief minister signed an order to extend Rs 2,000 each to 2.07 crore family cardholders at an expenditure of Rs 4,153.39 crore,” said an official statement.

He also signed an order reducing Aavin milk prices by Rs 3 per litre starting May 16.
He also issued an order permitting women to travel in ordinary services in town buses free of cost.
“The government will bear the additional expenditure of Rs 1,200 crore as subsidy to the transport corporations,” the official statement further read.
