A dead body of a woman was found in her garden in Nghalimlui village of Mizoram’s Lawngtlai district.
It has been suspected that the woman was raped before being killed.
As per reports, the woman has been identified as Sadin Mela.
She was said to be missing since January 6.

There were several efforts to find her since then but on Friday it was reported that she was lying dead in her vegetable garden.
The police have initiated an investigation into the entire case.
Mizoram is counted among the states having the lowest crime rates in the country.

The crime rate against women is also considered to be very low as Mizoram reported 33 cases of rape in 2020 as compared to other states.
