Veteran journalist Vinod Dua passed away on Saturday at a Delhi hospital.

Vinod Dua was undergoing treatment at an intensive care unit (ICU) of a Delhi hospital for post-COVID complications.

Dua had contracted COVID-19 earlier this year and was hospitalised after his condition deteriorated.

Vinod Dua is being considered as a pioneer in Television journalism in India.

He was associated with Doordarshan and NDTV for the larger part of his journalistic career.

The news of Vinod Dua’s demise was confirmed by his daughter Mallika Dua.

“Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He lived an inimitable life, rising from the refugee colonies of Delhi to the peak of journalistic excellence for over 42 years, always, always speaking truth to power. He is now with our mom, his beloved wife Chinna in heaven where they will continue to sing, cook, travel and drive each other up the wall,” Mallika Dua said in a statement.

Vinod Dua’s cremation would take place on December 5 at the Lodhi crematorium at noon.

Vinod Dua and his wife Padmavati Dua had contracted COVID during the second phase of the pandemic.

Both were hospitalised in a Gurugram hospital. Padmavati Dua had succumbed to COVID-19 in June.
