India’s COVID-19 death toll on Wednesday crossed the 2 lakh-mark.
As many as 3293 new COVID-19 deaths have been reported in India.
It is for the first time that the daily deaths count crossed the 3,000-mark since the beginning of the pandemic.
India, thus far, has registered a total of 2,01,187 COVID-19 fatalities.
Moreover, India has also detected 3,60,960 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

As per Union Health Ministry, India’s active cases tally stands at 29,78,709.
Maharashtra witnessed nearly 900 deaths. The state also reported 66,358 new cases.
Meanwhile Delhi recorded 24,149 fresh COVID-19 cases and over 300 deaths for 6th day in a row.
The six most affected states by total cases are Maharashtra (4,410,085), Kerala (1,405,655), Karnataka (1,400,775), Uttar Pradesh (1,086,625), Tamil Nadu (1,081,988), and Delhi (1,047,916).
Meanwhile, the Centre’s affidavit before the Supreme Court predicts a harder time for seven populous states — Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Delhi and Chhattisgarh — where demand for oxygen is estimated to increase significantly by April 30.

China has said that it was encouraging private companies to participate in India’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and that air and sea freight channels between the two countries remained unimpeded despite the suspension of cargo flights by state-owned Sichuan Airlines.
The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 148.3 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 3.13 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
