India has reported 3,915 more COVID19 deaths and 4,14,188 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

According to the Union health ministry data, country’s death toll increased to 2,34,083 on Friday.

With the new cases, India’s COVID19 tally increased to 2,14,91,598.

In the last 24 hours, 3,31,507 people were discharged after their recovery from the disease.

So far a total of 1,76,12,351 people have recovered from the disease across the country.

The country’s recovery rate stands at 81.95% while the death rate is 1.09%.

The country currently has 36,45,164 active COVID19 cases.

The positivity rate stands at 16.96%.

Meanwhile, Government of India has so far provided more than 17.35 crore vaccine doses (17,35,07,770) to states/UTs free of cost.

Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 16,44,77,100 doses (as per data available at 8 am on May 7), as per the Union health ministry data.

More than 90 lakh COVID19 vaccine doses (90,30,670) are still available with the states/UTs to be administered, the ministry said.

“Furthermore, more than 10 lakh (10,25,000) vaccine doses will be received in addition by the States/UTs within the next 3 days,” the health ministry said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday undertook a comprehensive review of the COVID19 related situation in the country.

He was given a detailed picture on the COVID19 outbreak in various states and districts.

The PM was informed about the 12 states which have more than 1 lakh active cases. PM Modi was also apprised about the districts with high disease burden, the Union health ministry said.
